Flexibility, creative placement. I will post some photos soon. It is immediately screwed in, although some kind of thread is visible, it is screwed in firmly. I've discreetly wrapped them around the front garage lights, but I plan to play around and see what angle is best. You can literally adjust the height, angle, and placement in seconds. Fun too. Approximately 17 inches, long enough to wrap outside items and structures. Good product.
