Great price, 50% less than similar shoes

I don't know why I bought this pair of shoes as they looked unkempt in the picture and I wasn't really looking for them Boat shoes, but something comfortable for the summer. When I ordered my first pair they arrived in one package which seemed to confirm my suspicion that they would fall apart in an instant. NOT CORRECT! These are the most comfortable shoes I have. Who cares that they come in a bag? When I tried them for the first time, I knew right away that this is exactly what I need. I've been wearing them without socks for about a month and I was sure that would cause them to fall apart. WRONG AGAIN! They dislike chasing the dog in the backyard, gardening, etc. I have tile throughout my house and tend to go barefoot. I wore these shoes yesterday and I remember thinking it was even better than walking barefoot. They are easy to put on, although you cannot do it without the help of your hands. And the design is such that there is never a moment when you lift your foot to take a step and feel like it might slip. I have worn them with thin invisible summer socks and without them. In any case just as convenient. At this price I was afraid they would sell out and I would never find another pair so I reordered several pairs in gray and black. They are (in bags) in the closet in case my first pair is gone. But I don't see any signs of wear, even in the corners where the spandex-like material is sewn in to allow your foot to slip through. Some other observations: These canvas shoes have virtually no arch support - they are flat and have a cloth inner. If you need arch support or stand in it for long periods of time, they probably won't work for you. Also a plus if you have trouble tying your shoelaces due to arthritis or other conditions, this is an easy fix. You'll have to tug on the heel to get them on securely, but other than that, you don't have to fiddle with ties, ties, and unties. You look a little rough. This is to make it look like you spent the summer on your yacht in Palm Beach. Apparently it works - I got a compliment from a friend who only wears Tiffany, Prada and Gucci. To be honest, I don't care what they look like - I wear them all around the house, and all I want is to be comfortable and not think the shoes are tight, scratchy, or knotted. I'll wait and see the construction and longevity but right now they mean as much to me as Sperry sailboats which can cost twice as much.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No insurance
