Cleans an old oven very well
The secret to this thing is to spread it like butter on burnt things in the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. After that, use a paper towel or something with texture. DO NOT USE ANYTHING WET YET! This is the key. Don't use a damp cloth until you've used a paper towel or textured rag. Also, be sure to wipe down the entire oven completely when you're done, otherwise it will smell bad the first time you use it. Works for other stains, but the main thing is a paper towel first, and then a damp rag.
