After I installed the correct driver for my operating system, it was fully operational. I have read many reviews on many of these cables on Revain including many horror stories about different chipsets and hardware connectors not matching the device and people claiming to have wasted hours and days and based on decent reviews I decided on this one. . and the guys posted a lot of useful information about drivers, com ports and so on. But while I knew that 99% of the "terrible" stories people post on Revain were written by people who don't really understand what they're doing, I knew I could roll the dice. So imagine how happy I was to get this thing up and running in less than five minutes - the Prolific driver loaded properly, the correct COM port was found, CHIRP worked great as soon as I "Load Radio" " by using my Baofeng UV- 5X. . I can't promise everyone will have the same experience as me, but this inexpensive cable makes using CHIRP a pleasure!
