I was looking for a mug that would keep my coffee hot for at least an hour to an hour and a half. This mug retains heat, but not enough. After an hour it's still hot enough to drink without getting up to warm it up, but not as hot as I think or would like. If it tips over, the coffee will flow through the valve, which you use to open the spout and drink - not much, but enough to reduce its thermal insulation properties. I will keep searching for the best mug.
