I've used this style before and it's usually a soft rubber button that then slides into place with some resistance. This is a metal button with a very tall stem that is much narrower than the V handle that is designed to hold it. I gathered as much of the leaf as I could and it still fell apart. Then I cut the washcloth so I could have a double folded piece of towel on each end in addition to the sheet. It worked. Pulling him isn't enough, but stopping him from coming down will do. The first connection is easy but the other end was tricky because if you blindfold it under the mattress the washcloth would bunch up and be too much. Straightening the towel while the elastic was taut and holding the mattress was a lot harder than it looks. Twice I lost the end and had to look for it under the mattress in the original corner. I was exhausted after that, although I doubt that counts as training.
