Review on ConnectPRO UR 12 KIT 2 Port Switch Cables by Amy Cook

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Okay: I then added it to my setup.

I bought this so my wife can use either her new computer when I built it or her old computer. After the software problems were fixed, she switched exclusively to the new PC. Good: I then added it to my laptop and desktop setup. Since it's VGA only, I only used it for my second display when using my monitors, not my laptop's screen. I used to travel with my laptop when I originally did this. Since ACER and now ASUS don't make device-specific docking stations, this was a cheap workaround. My desktop is usually my laptop and desktop used primarily for storage, or a PC that I work on for a friend or family. Only need 1 keyboard and mouse and a set of monitors. The kit includes VGA and USB cables. Cons: The USB hub is slow even for USB 2.0, making it useless for transferring large amounts of data or external drives. The KVM itself is a bit light with all the cables on the back pulling it backwards as the cables that come with it are quite heavy. My desk has a monitor shelf, a table itself, and a PC shelf. For simplicity, I install KVM on a monitor shelf between my two monitors. The weight of the cables running down the back of the table lifts the front of the KVM. Sound is also missing if you want to use the same set of speakers on 2 devices. I'll see if the new ConnectPro models get updated. to USB 3.0 and digital video connections as well as audio.
