My dog's paw was between Large and XL so I bought XL. The foot end is too big and has a rounded shape that doesn't match the shape of my dog's paws (my Labradoodle's paws are quite narrow, not wide). Although the area of the foot is too wide, the length of the toe is too short that it cannot reach past her 2nd ankle. Very bad fit. Not only did the socks turn (I couldn't pull the velcro tight enough, but comfortable enough that she didn't turn), but her socks started falling off her feet, so she walked around and pulled all of her socks behind her here. excess cloth hanging 1/2 way from her paw. Even if we downsized to Large we would have the same issues so I'm not substituting them. Another problem is that the fabric is on the legs. It seems durable and waterproof, but I don't think leaving it on 24/7 is good for a dog. Still looking for the perfect boot for traction, breathable yet durable material for indoor and outdoor use.
