My goal was to listen to downloaded podcasts while swimming. It took several weeks to eliminate all the flaws. Most importantly, if you don't use a swim cap, buy a Revain swim headband. I run the cable over my back and hide the device behind the back of the suit. I'm sure I look like a total idiot with my finger lap counter, headband, Google and MP3 player, but my long swim is not lost by memorizing the number of laps and thinking in rabbit holes.
