The case is very durable. It also came with straps, but I just wanted a wrist strap and back lift. It was a little tricky to put the tablet in the case, but once you do it can protect against almost all falls that can happen at home as long as it doesn't drop the first screen on something pointed. You only have to be a little more careful with the tablet model, since the camera is different in the new version.
