I was completely oblivious of the orthopedic consequence! Pillow is a pillow, and like any other cushion, it has both benefits and drawbacks. In general, there is nothing remarkable about it! The benefits of it include: It's not like my old feather pillow where you need to fluff it up. It is easy to fall asleep when lying on your side. Its cons: Strong and imposing! In general, I didn't notice much of a difference between this and a feather pillow; nevertheless, I wouldn't say that sleeping on your back is particularly comfortable. However, when worn on the stomach, it is not at all pleasant. I would not go so far as to state that it improves the quality of my sleep.
