I am not enthusiastic about this article, but it serves its purpose. It was an expensive item that I didn't need, but I figured it would help organize my sewing space. A compact thread organizer instead of a messy thread box. Well it organizes the thread and I can even store a matching spool of thread along with the spool. What I don't like is the impractical handling. The packaging says it can be shown openly, but in my opinion it doesn't look very good. Be clear with pens. I was hoping to hang it over my workspace like a wooden thread stand, but it looks terrible with the handles sticking up. It's awkward pulling or "clicking" on the plastic rod holding the spool. It's a tough one to explain, but difficult to pull out without pressing elsewhere on the case. I have found that after a few uses the rod does not fully return although it still works well. Generally a good organizer. Maybe it's just me. I had a crack that seemed to grow to about 3 inches in diameter. It didn't affect use so I used some glue to fill in the cracks and hoped it would stick properly to withstand years of use. The latch is safe and firm. There are no objections in this regard. But I really hate that it's still a case to juggle. I was hoping I could leave and open it, but it's not really aesthetically pleasing. Not when I'm trying to keep my sewing room neat and tidy.
