We bought this as novelty for our little daughter as she got jealous that her older brother is going to school. She was over the moon when she saw it and rushed to fill it with toys and whatever to put on and go outside. Even when we check the mail she wants to put it on and walk around like a big girl going to school. If times were different we would certainly use it to take her stuff on day trips as it is well built and made of good material. She's small, so we've added a belt clip to the front to keep her from slipping off her shoulders. We are happy and know that if she outgrows her she will last a long time.
