I recently read Born to Run and was looking for an affordable shoe that I could try minimalistic barefoot walking in without breaking the bank. It worked for that. The only negative is that the back strap started fraying after the first start. To defend the shoes, this was a 4-mile run on concrete and they weren't designed for that. I used it for a four mile hike the next day and it was fine. I don't think it will last too long for what I've used, but for the price it's pretty good.
