Wee Travel Clock Radio

This is a small AM/TH travel clock radio. The display is sharp and the orange backlight is easy to see in the dark. Setting the time and alarm itself isn't complicated, but it's not intuitive - you'll need a little guide to figure out which buttons to press. I like that it either honks or uses the radio as an alarm clock. One caveat is that unlike a radio alarm, the alarm doesn't last very long. The audio from the internal speaker is terrible; very funny without bass. I found this surprising as speaker technology has improved a lot since the advent of external Bluetooth speakers. The sound is much better when using headphones. You just have to remember to press the stereo button as FM is mono by default. Strange that it doesn't automatically switch to stereo when headphones are plugged in. But the price is good. Radio reception is not very accurate. I've read other small radio reviews and it looks like a DSP chip for the radio. I found adding presets tedious as you have to do it manually as there is no search button that ticks all the strong stations in the area. There is no antenna like in the golden days as it is part of the handle strap. Therefore you cannot rotate it to find the best angle for the strongest reception. But if you don't change channels often, that shouldn't be a problem. No portable electronic clock radio is used and unfortunately if it is on the bedside table it can be knocked over very easily. He needs some kind of wing or easel to support him better. I ended up using a 35mm film container full of quarters and a rubber band connecting them to keep it upright. I took a chance, it works like an alarm clock but not like a desk radio.
