Coffee tastes burnt and chemical

I've encountered a number of issues ranging from inconveniences to potential health and safety hazards. First of all, I have to mention that this product is made in China. it's not italian. It is branded Italian only. Second, the water chamber cover has a silicone seal. the water in this chamber turns to steam so obviously it gets very hot which begs the question, does the lid even degrade, are chemicals getting into my coffee? moreover, the seal is not fixed on the lid. it comes off mostly, and it's a real nuisance trying to put it back in place. Finally, the quality of the coffee this thing produces is sub-par, to say the least. I had to run the machine a couple of times when it surfaced due to small bits of metal floating around after the first use. Once I got over this situation, I was left with a fairly well-functioning machine that constantly produces a burnt smell that resonates with the taste of the coffee. Since I spend a lot of money on espresso coffee beans, I have to say that the machine is not worth the money.

Pros
  • BAKER: Adjustable steam for perfect frothing or frothing milk for cappuccinos and lattes
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
