Despite specs, works better than USB 3.0 model on older motherboards/processors

I ran a small trial to get the USB 3.0 version of this capture card working on my old computer. I'm running a 2600K processor and while the card is technically outside of specs, it worked for a while but inevitably shut down after a while. I don't blame the card. Let's be honest, my computer is old and apart from the processor, there might be problems with the USB setup. But after weeks of frustrating tech support with Elgato, I couldn't get it to work reliably, so I ended up reverting to the USB 3.0 version. I ordered to try anyway. Surprise, surprise, great! My only issue was that when switching HDMI devices, I sometimes had to disable and re-enable the card in OBS. More importantly, once it was up and running, it ran for hours without any fiddling. The "updated" version looked like new and even cost less than the USB 3.0 version! Pretty much if you ask me! So if, like me, you're having trouble with your USB 3.0 card, give it a try! But if you run into problems, I don't expect much helpful support from Elgato.
