These cotton buds are made of bamboo and cotton. The center stick is a polished, smooth, durable piece of bamboo. It does not bend and is absolutely not wobbly in the hand. The cotton at the end is plump and absorbent. Again, it's too strong and dense enough to be wiped off without succumbing. Cheaper cotton swabs can shed lint or pull lint out of your ear. It is not so. These EcoFox cotton buds are of excellent quality. They are well made and made from sustainable materials. I am satisfied with the quality and feel comfortable both in it and in my children's ears. There is less chance of going too far due to the large cotton tips. Of course, the safety of regular cotton swabs is important, but they help clean the outer areas of the ear.
