High quality protein powder but tastes so bad

This seems like a great protein powder for the price. I ordered a sample size and received the correct number of servings. It is easily digestible - does not cause flatulence. Good quality, great texture, easy to blend. The kicker and the reason for the three stars? Taste. It's terrible. Something about the aftertaste makes it almost inedible. In the beginning it is a sweet vanilla taste. Smells good. But I have to drink it to get rid of it once I start drinking it. I find it mixes better in smoothies - alone I have such a hangover with an aftertaste.
