Review on 🎨 Apolo Arte Metallic Watercolor Paint Set - 24 Premium Glitter Watercolors - Water Coloring Palette for Adults - Metallic Watercolor Paints by Morgan Gilmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good selection of metallic colors.

I am attaching some photos to the review. There is a photo showing several paint brands and their metallic colors and several mountains. I took this photo in full sun and the metallic colors look really washed out. I took another photo of these samples in the shade and it shows the colors better. I included a closeup of the mountains. There is a flower on the white paper to show how these colors look on the white paper. There is a color swatch with an open can of these colors. The most direct comparison that can be made is with Arteza Colors, which also offer 24 colors for about the same price. Both of these inks delivered brightness and color depth and responded well. Arteza included a black sample card and a white sample card, which was very thoughtful. Apolo Arte only included a white sample card. The colors of the paint supplied are much more important than sample cards. I liked Apolo Arte's color choice much better. Arteza has too many colors that read like pink. I also tried Schmincke, a professional watercolor brand. As you can see, MUCH more expensive. Your metallic gold is absolutely amazing and I always make sure I have a tube of it. Looking at the color swatches, their colors on the black watercolor test sheet are no brighter, richer, or deeper than Apolo Arte or Arteza. I haven't researched if there is a difference in the lightfastness rating and this could be an area where Schmincke really shines. Finally, I've included a sample of Komorebi for the cheap finish. It was 10.89 on Revain today, but Honey (price comparison app) says it's been in the $7 range on Revain for the past thirty days. I find that the most common colors I use for metallics are gold and silver, and this set includes both colors. If you also want to primarily use gold and silver, Komorebi is a good and cheap choice. If you like to paint and play with 24 colors (mark the sea water! blast the sunset!), the colors (purple is beautiful! as is blue!) are the ones to go with. I will give Apolo Arte - highly recommended!
