2 tries and they don't fit Scythe

I bought a set of 2 and neither of them fit my scythe. Sent back for replacement and again none of the bands from the 2nd set fit. At the connection point, the tape is too wide for my 2021 scythe. I've tried attaching ribbons from all sorts of angles, but to no avail.
