We love Keen Newport, decided to try Clearwater as a birthday present for my husband. The outsole is much thinner than the Newport. We are rough on our kinas and as we have flat feet we appreciate a thicker sole with a nice concave. But what's even worse is the size difference. Both sizes are 13, but the blue Clearwater is narrower and smaller. I trade for Newport. Last week I walked the Narrows in Zion National Park. The river is full of large round stones over which river water constantly flows. My Newports gave me comfort, protection and support for my arch, ankle and toes. My leg muscles ached but thanks to Keane Newport my joints were fine.
