Better, but with disadvantages

Not long ago there were stands for all kinds of printers. Not just cheap desks, but quality, durable office desks that look good for business use. These are very difficult to find. I've spent hours looking for a color laser printer that has enough room for typical essential supplies like extra paper and replacement toner cartridges, and after a lot of effort, I came up with this one. My expectations were low given the price but the size is perfect for the space I have and the color is modern and welcoming. The main unit ships in one package and the heavy tempered glass lid comes in another with an impressive level of protection. Around him. Unfortunately, I can't say I was remotely impressed with how casually the main unit was assembled. At first I thought it was a previous owner because some of the parts came pre-assembled, but I guess that's how they designed it. Parts were dirty and some were deeply scratched, although the unit showed no signs of physical abuse. I've assembled at least a hundred ready-to-assemble furniture pieces for the shops and my home, so I can call myself an expert. Good instructions are never enough, you have to be able to imagine the finished block and trust its logic when assembling something like this. The instructions for this device are actually better than average, the drawings are clear and show close-ups of each step. Some descriptions are better than others, and in at least one case they were completely wrong, defining left as right and right as left. In my opinion, there is an unusual number of pieces for this item, with many pockets of different sizes and types of clasps. many more different types than necessary. This should naturally be a one man assembly process, but there is one step that absolutely requires two people. It took a lot longer than I expected, about five hours from start to finish. Here are some tips based on things I've come across. Due to careless manufacturing, some of the holes and most of the channel tracks are fully covered with vinyl covering all surfaces. If you pierce the holes with a fastener you risk tearing the vinyl from the surface, so it's best to pierce the vinyl with the point of a pencil or similar sharp object. For unfinished channel tracks, you will need to cut the vinyl with an Xacto knife, otherwise you may find that it is not possible to insert the cardboard backing or the bottom of the box into the grooves.2. This cabinet primarily uses cam locks to hold it together. They rarely stay taut for long, so I always use a good professional grade wood glue on any assembly points where one surface touches another. The kit comes with a small but mighty tool with a soft rubber grip. Use it. You might be tempted to use your own screwdriver or even a power tool. Although the included tool is small, its size and rubber grip help you tighten the fasteners. Remove the part IDs as you get to each part, otherwise some of them will get stuck between the two parts, resulting in an unattractive end product. When you reach the glass surface, turn it onto a piece of thin foam to keep it from scratching or slipping. Do not insert the fasteners into the lifting metal dowels, but insert them into the metal bushings attached to the glass and hand-tighten, and then insert the metal dowel into the fastener.6. Clean the underside of the glass with a good glass cleaner before installation. It's very dirty and it will be almost impossible to get there. Also note that there is subtle engraving to indicate that this is tempered glass. If this might bother you later, make sure you orient the glass so the logo isn't upside down. Glue the cardboard backing and bottom of the boxes into the grooves around the perimeter. This greatly contributes to the structural strength of the product. The finished product is relatively durable and attractive. Unlike most ready-to-assemble furniture that tries to mimic wood grain, here all visible surfaces are covered in a durable sheet of dark gray vinyl that not only looks good but is also easy to clean. The cabinet would look better without the notches and would work a little better if they put a little more effort into designing a stronger drawer system. This turned out to be a great place to store a laptop with power adapter, mouse etc. I never seem to have a proper spot in my home office for my laptop and this spot is perfect. an email of sorts from Elisabeth from the marketing company asking for a review and asking me to contact her if I have any problems. I'm just posting the facts, but I'm willing to consider how the company solves problems and tries to improve them, so I contacted them to discuss the shortcomings. I was hoping for an immediate and positive solution, but now a week later she just ignored me. That tells me everything about their customer service and proves my suspicion that they really don't care. The product is adequate but the customer service is lacking.
