The tool worked well for about 6 months and then became intermittent. Now the device does not light up at all. My computer recognizes the device, but the device does not read the card. We have to find a replacement. ************** Edit 10/30/18: I'm leaving an old post in case anyone has the same issue. Apparently Windows 10 selected an option in Device Manager to disable the device to save power. I unchecked the box and now the reader works fine. In Device Manager, right-click the device > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
