I don't like using mostly discarded items, I like to save money BUT sometimes they are very handy. Wrinkles or slight scars. Fingers tend to rub makeup, they're MUCH better at gliding over imperfections. TRAVEL - if you're traveling and have trouble washing your makeup sponge you might find it useful to have it in your bag and YOU CAN rinse it out, but for me it's easier than a regular FOR TOUCH UPS makeup sponge - I keep it in my bag, and again, you can clean it, in a little zip lock, just handy. Smaller and easier to use than a makeup sponge for me and I can wash my face at home. Takes up little space in my makeup bag or zippered pocket. SOFT - I really like the texture, not rough DOES NOT pick up as much as some - THIS is the main thing, I don't waste makeup and it glides on my face. RESULT: HOW and WHY I use them, FIVE STARS. If, like me, you don't like throwing away, you can wash, wring, and reuse them quickly and easily. Just give preference to large sponges with an unusual shape.
