The cable is of good quality but a bit harsh. The plastic parts of the plugs are hard and shiny plastic and should last a long time if not used. The plugs are gold-plated or gold-like plated. It's hard to see in the photo, but the sleeve on each connector is quite long - about 8mm. This is to prevent the cable from breaking at the connectors. If you've ever used Apple cables, this cable feels just like it. I think this cable can break if you pull on the cable while unplugging. This is how I've seen Apple cables break. But if you take care of your cables, they will last a long time. I still use an iPod touch 2g with the original cable and the cable is in perfect condition. I have only used this cable for one day so far and my first impressions are very good. If the cable fails or breaks I will definitely update this review.
