How: One unit - collar and GPS. Small, light, portable, rechargeable. Customer service responds to inquiries. The dog responds to the alarm, so I can turn off the shock and really turn it off. Issues: I can't reuse the retainer, so I have to start the setup process from a new position to use the collar. It looks like it keeps the area setting but not the position which is the center of the circle. The minimum radius is 20 meters (more than 60 feet). It's not a problem in my yard, but when I'm driving in a circle around the car it can become a problem. I keep it and look forward to the next version. This is a good idea, but not easy to use. I revisited this review after speaking to a manufacturer representative who said they had fixed some of the issues raised in my review. I removed the comments on the corrected items and increased my overall score. I wasn't using the latest device.
