Review on Proraso Sensitive Skin Shaving Cream: Green Tea & Oatmeal Formula, 5.2 Oz by Shay Badger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent foam, mild but unusual smell, large tube

FOAM: Used with Razorock Plissoft Synthetic Brush. This product lathers reasonably quickly in my hand or on my face, although not as quickly as a good grease-based soap puck. The foam in my bowl didn't work as well as I expected, but my shaving bowl is smooth stainless steel, so your results might improve with a textured bowl. So I wouldn't recommend this if you're primarily using the bowl or mug technique. Note: I haven't tried lathering with just my hands (ie no brush) - I prefer shea-based products for this type of shave. Glide: Regular Glide - perhaps best in combination with pre-shave oil or shea butter. I expected a little more from such a well-known cream company. However, for the money it seems good value on par with anything you'll find at Revain. You really have to use handcrafted soap made by a small company to get the best glide. SCENT: It smells mild and the scent lasts about half a day. The product uses green tea and oatmeal flavors. I definitely smell green tea more than anything else. The only way I can describe it is to take a regular unscented hand lotion and pour green tea straight into it. Not my favorite but it's not strong so unless you use a scented aftershave it won't compete. VALUE: It provides good glide and lather when applied to hands or face. The tube is big and lasts a long time. The scent is mild but unappealing unless you like lotion + green tea. Definitely worth ten bucks.
