Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Women's Brooks Ghost Peacoat Yucca Navy Shoes: Enhanced Athletic Performance by Isaac Simpson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Like Ghost, but 14 is not the same at all.

I only discovered Brooks last year. As described, I am active, 49 years old, wear size 7.5, medium width, medium arch, no foot problems at all, but still want comfortable shoes. Now I'm not a runner and never will be a runner but I just wanted a comfortable walking shoe for working out, the gym, amusement parks or anywhere I need a comfortable shoe for all day use. I bought the Ghost 12 and Adrenaline 20 last year and loved them, especially the Ghost 12. I liked the Ghost 12 so much I bought another pair and then bought the 13 and loved them too. When Brooks released Ghost 14 this year, I thought I should have that too. I bought the Black/Pink/Yucca Ghost 14 thinking I would like it as did the 12 and 13 but NO. This version is just different - the toe box is narrow (I don't have a wide foot) and doesn't feel as soft. The shoe looks oddly "longer" and I also don't like the shorter, flatter laces that are new to this model. It was so different from the 12 and 13 that I immediately boxed it up for return. I was so disappointed! Why creeks? Why change something good? I hope future versions of Ghost get better and don't leave Brooks behind with these changes.

Pros
  • SOFT, SUSTAINABLE, FIT: More strategic use of 3D Fit Print upper technology creates structure that moves with the foot.
Cons
  • boring packaging
