Review on Knuckle Strap Controller Oculus Headset Wearable Technology by Michael Barrett

Revainrating 2 out of 5

WARNING: Painfully uncomfortable! AVOID!

Overall disappointing. Very impractical, and the actual design and choice of materials used in their manufacture should have been recommended and reconsidered as this is a good example of how bone straps and grips for your Oculus should NOT be manufactured and sold. Incredibly poor performance in almost every way and I recommend you avoid them and buy something else, preferably one that doesn't have velcro in it. zip and properly attach these knuckles to your controllers, which me (and seriously - that's no exaggeration, I wasn't retarded, "special" or someone you play "a few cards short of full deck") " if you know what I mean. But just trying to figure out how to buckle the bottom half of the strap took me 2 hours (and over 3 days BC I was so insanely frustrated that I took him my friend "Google" to search the web and hopefully find how to do it since the instruction manual (if you could call it that) doesn't illustrate how to do it and such a bad excuse for "instructions" is " that they will be set on fire and reduced to ashes. My main gripe is the fact that he "assumes" (bc no where it says in the instructions) that you remembered it and knew you had to remove it sen battery cover on the controllers themselves, th oby sliders on the bottom of each strap. And then after you figure it out and you're ready to use them, the velcro used to fasten it reaches halfway down the rivet strap and conforms to people's hands, rubbing against your skin and leaving a horrible rash . But loosening the strap to prevent that defeats the main purpose of being able to let go of the controllers when you want to and not having to put them down when you don't want to continue grabbing them. controllers to avoid dropping them. And therein lies the problem (pun intended), because if you hold them tighter and the way you would normally wear them, your fingers will rub against the Velcro on the straps, leaving my knuckles on my index finger and thumb with gross friction burns. And this could have been avoided and resolved by simply opting for a small buckle or button instead. And as for the rubber grips, you have to slide awkwardly over the controllers, and it depends on keeping the top of each controller together by taking the side with the two small entry holes that had to be pushed down, and on the other side where two are tiny rubber tabs and that must be an effective way to keep the handles in place AND together?!? You have to play me?! I saw them once and then confirmed this by reading the instructions (which btw if you wanted to omit the "obvious" from the instructions THAT would be, not how to properly place the bottom of the ankle strap and has to remove the battery cover ) . When someone thought that was enough and opted for this design and the "lock system" to keep the grips fully together and on your controllers, I knew right away that this was going to be an issue and they wouldn't stay would. and in fact the complete opposite - comes loose and has to be reattached again and again. Yes, definitely stay away from those "Velcro Leather Straps With Controller Grips". I can't believe the reviews are that good because a score above a 2 star review is just overwhelming. The ONLY reason I'm not giving them "1 star" is that after all the headaches, painful chafing, and constantly holding the top of the handles, they do the job they were designed to do. Despite all the downsides I've just listed, it's possible to take your hands off the controllers and let go of them without having to take them off and put them down if you want to do so. They do it so you can have "hands free" if/when you want it, and the grips themselves kind of make me feel more secure (which is their main selling point), and it's okay, the Oculus controllers are better to hold and no longer afraid they will fly out of your hands. I'm a fair and honest reviewer ;) Hence my 2 star rating. I'll obviously get others though (I've found some others that don't use velcro and warp and don't overcomplicate what should be simple and very straight forward, an easy to understand product that fits this application is all that is needed here , and as it should be! So until I just wear the gloves (what did you expect me to do? painful anger / They burn because without them I had no choice), And until I get others that way , my fingers won't get bloody and blistered. You've been warned. And the next time I look at something that cites something specific as "bad" and that "hurts or hurts too much," I'll take photos, too I'm going to criticize (or praise for that matter) I hope you take this into account when searching for "ankle straps and grips for your Oculus controllers" in the future as they really help and make things a lot more comfortable do if they are done well and properly. Definitely - knowing what I know now, I would NEVER buy them. NEVER! **Note:** And if you're wondering why I didn't bring back what I was so unhappy about, it's because as I moved the handles I stretched the trigger loops and changed them that way. If the buttons moved they wouldn't hold the button. Anyhow, I'm just grateful they weren't expensive and could have been worse. But not much ;)
