I like the weight of these gloves - they're somewhere between a cook's mitt and a dish-up mitt. I bought these for my husband to wear when he bakes dirty food that gets his hands and fingers dirty. They contain no powder and can therefore be used in the kitchen. My husband's hands are what I would consider medium sized (he weighs about 200 pounds). We have them in size XL because he needs a lot of flexibility in his hands and fingers when cooking and sometimes has to take them off and put them back on during the cooking process. You'll notice in the photos that the XL has a little more room, but they're not slack. There's also a photo of these gloves alongside a standard pair of chef's gloves to give you an idea of the thickness. Anyway, he used a pair of these gloves while cooking last night and found them to hold up well, not leak on the fingertips/nails and easy to put on and take off. Quality gloves for our purposes.
