The height of the lid is suitable for decorating cupcakes. There seems to be a small problem, if you have slightly larger cupcakes (basically anything that goes beyond the cupcake liner - if you're slightly overcrowded, for example) they touch the cupcake. So the top clearance is good, the side clearance is not very good. Many decorations are mostly destroyed. They also appear to be the wrong size. My standard cupcakes sit slightly higher than the bottom of the tray. They are also very difficult to open once locked. I cut myself several times trying to open it and had a plastic tear which in turn cut my finger. It's close to Halloween, but people sure don't want real blood on their cupcakes. Aside from those issues, they're not terrible. They're only annoying when there are much better ones that don't have these problems. The price is good for what you actually get.
