Good for his looks. The best options are out there.

First, I have a Famis/Parnis Panerai "Hommage" watch that I love. Its fit and finish is great, and it keeps time very well thanks to its massive power reserve. I say that with two real Panerai, Rad and Luminor. Second, it's not hard to say that this watch pays homage to the Rolex GMT Master II. I've had two real GMT Masters in the past. All black and "Pepsi". loved them both. OK, here I come. I love watches in all price ranges. I'm not a watch snob. Appearance: This watch looks great on the wrist. Rolex really hit the nail on the head with this design. This Parnis gives you the look and feel of a GMT Master without the $9,000 price tag. I have no problem with watches that pay homage to classic timepieces as long as they don't try to trick anyone into believing they're real. This watch features the Parnis lettering on the dial, the letter P on the crown and the Parnis Watch Co logo. on the clasp. There is no chance of selling this as a real Rolex but you will get great Rolex style. This watch also looks very, very nice. Bracelet: The worst thing about this item. First, the watch uses screws instead of friction pins. If you have a small flathead screwdriver, the size can be easily adjusted. That's the good part. The problem is that literally every one of the screws in mine was loose and two almost fell out. I wonder about their quality control when they don't notice the screw sticking out of the bracelet. Ok, a few turns of the driver and all is good and re-glued. The second issue with the bracelet is its fit/finish. The edges of the bracelet are very sharp. No attempt is made to slightly round or bevel them for a smooth feel. It doesn't cause any wrist pain or discomfort to be honest, but it's pretty obvious when you hold the watch in your hands. There are also parts of the clasp that are not visible when the watch is worn and have been left unfinished. I'm not expecting a Rolex fit/finish, but a little smoothing things out will really improve the "hand feel" of this bracelet and clasp. Yes, and the clasp closes with two buttons, one on each side. They seem safe enough for now, but would also prefer a backup. In general, the bracelet is acceptable for its price. Crown: A screw-down crown that actually closes smoothly. The bottom is a wobbly stalk when you unscrew it. Breaks easily without care. That seems normal for a watch in this price range. Also, the watch is advertised as being only 3ATM water resistant, so the screw-down crown appears to be for looks only, not for WR like the Rolex Sub's triple-lock crown, for example. Face, Bezel: The bezel is advertised as ceramic. The numbers and markers are engraved on the bezel and then filled with white paint. Bezel when turning "game" for about half a minute. Doesn't quite hit the minute count. The entire frame can be moved up and down or left and right by approx. 1 mm. Leads to a cheap feeling. The bezel can also only be rotated in one direction, like on a diving watch. GMT watches must have a bi-directional bezel. A small point to reduce costs. The face is advertised as a sapphire crystal. Nice feature if original. There is a magnifying glass above the date which really magnifies it. Not as much as the original, but I've had a more expensive watch that didn't gain as much weight. Operation: Okay, for those unfamiliar, the Rolex GMT movement allows the GMT hand to move in one-hour increments. This keeps the hand in the correct position no matter when you change it. With this watch, the GMT hand is adjusted in the same way as the minute hand. It doesn't jump from hour to hour, it rotates smoothly. This means that it can only be set precisely on the hour. If it makes sense In addition, True GMT only allows the hour hand to be adjusted in one-hour increments without changing the position of the minute hand. This only has a normal time setting, no clock, just jumps. These are small features that are nice to have, but I don't expect them at this price point. The downside for those with OCD tendencies is that the hands tend to jump out of position when the crown is closed after the time has been set. For example, if you set the watch to 8 o'clock and press the crown, the hand will jump forward or back a minute or two. The GMT hand does this too. Pretty frustrating for those of us who love precision. Which leads us to hack or not to hack. I really can't tell if this move should chop or not. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And that in full wind. Speaking of the factory, the mechanism is manually wound, which is a big plus for me. It has a gritty feel, but I've felt it in much more expensive watches. All in all, if you like the look of the GMT Master II and you want/need a GMT watch, this watch will probably serve you well. Just expect them to have the $120 automatic watch in fit/style/function. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive part that will last a lifetime and has a much better fit/finish, save a few bucks more and buy the Seiko SKX as a different model. suggested the reviewer. SKX007 or (009 if you want some color) is much better but not much more expensive. You get grossly underrated Seiko quality and your own bulletproof movement, and with maintenance you get a watch that you can pass on to the next generation. If you're looking for the perfect fit/finish/performance GMT Master, you won't find it here. Save another $8,000 and buy the original. Overall I'm happy with this watch for the price I paid. Gives a cute whisk look. Enjoy!
