I was looking for Nivea Crème online hoping to save some money compared to my usual pharmacy price and I was hoping to find Nivea Crème made in Germany because I've heard and read about it over and over again how great the German cream is in comparison, especially the Mexican cream sold in the States and how much better the ingredients of the German cream are. When I clicked on all the different Nivea creams for sale on Amazon I was disappointed with all the reviews of all the creams stating that all the creams were from Asia or Mexico but I found this one seller and based on their description and none Reviews at the time I figured for the price (I still saved money over the pharmacy) worth a try! MY RISK was worth it! THIS IS GERMAN MATERIAL! :) The back of the container is labeled in German and French and it says (in German) that it is made in Hamburg, Germany. Things came to New York, where I am, in a strange way via Arizona. The metal tin was sealed with packaging tape but didn't have the usual plastic tape around the rims that it comes with in the States when it's in a can, so I was a little apprehensive, but removing the packaging tape allowed me to open the jar and was pleased to find that the cream was still sealed with foil and the lotion was brand new and unadulterated! The lotion itself was not that different from the Mexican lotion sold in the States. as many hype imply, BUT I have to say it's better! It's not as smooth/slimy as the Mexican, but that's because it's thicker. The German variety sticks better to the skin and doesn't rub off as easily as the Mexican (until I tried this German I didn't realize the Mexican variety rubbed off, but it does)! Also, the German variety takes longer to absorb and you need to use less, but it's MUCH better at hydrating. On really dry areas of my skin like elbows etc I saw a significant improvement after the first use! Plus, it keeps my skin hydrated much longer than the Mexican version! I'm glad this is the European version based on ingredient safety. I'm just a pharmaceutical student so I'm still in school and I still have a lot to learn, but I know that in the US the FDA doesn't really regulate the cosmetics industry and has only banned 10 ingredients in cosmetics while in Europe the European one Union has banned more than a thousand! In the US, companies do not have to prove that ingredients in cosmetics are safe as is required in Europe and if they cannot demonstrate that an ingredient is safe and even if it is known to be unsafe then they cannot include it. . I'm not trying to get political or opinionated, I'm just being honest. That's why I was personally so keen to try this German cream! I am very satisfied with this product and I highly recommend this cream!
