Review on Canon PowerShot SX600 HS 16MP Digital Camera (White) by Gary Duncan

We have three Canon sights at home: an old camera from the last ten years (which my youngest son uses now), an inexpensive year old for my oldest son and now this one for us adults . I can honestly say this is my new favorite for image quality. It also takes great pictures indoors without daylight, which is very important in my north-facing living room. The other reviews here were very helpful in understanding this and worth reading - I can't add any value to them. Wi-Fi is a whole different story. I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, but I keep encountering obstacles when trying to set up Wi-Fi. First, there are two separate menus that can be accessed separately. So you may be wondering why you can't access the settings you want unless you realize you're in the wrong place from where you started. Second, Canon requires you to install the software on your computer, and the setup is poorly documented. Third, the camera seems to have a hard time finding my computer and when it finds it, it "turns off". disappointment exercise. All user manuals seem to indicate that all of this can be solved by connecting the camera directly to the computer with a cable. Of course, this model comes cable-free, and while I have at least 10 connectors in the house for every other type of Canon camera you can think of, I don't yet have a mini-HDMI-to-HDMI cable or anything like that. AV OUT cable that supports this unit. So I can't get the WiFi to work at all. However, when I bought it I knew the WiFi was poorly implemented, so I can't say I'm terribly disappointed. I am very happy with the picture quality at this price point and maybe in time I can find a decent cable and see if the WiFi actually works.
