This item is of good quality and is very solid. I mounted it on a cheap tripod and placed it next to the bike trainer. The corners use a fairly stiff spring to hold the iPad in place and it's 100% solid and will never drop your iPad. I have to tap it a lot while riding a stationary bike and it just won't budge. Btw I don't actually watch an iPad as I have a 4k TV for most of my cycling apps. However, an app I use (TACX) only works with the iPad. I use screen mirroring to cast my screen to my TV via Apple TV. But I still control the app from the iPad.
