This electric fireplace has exceeded my expectations. I really enjoy it and the cozy atmosphere it creates! Thoughtful design, both in appearance and in function. The glass door has the appearance of a built-in fire screen not found on most electric fireplaces; It's a nice touch that makes it more realistic. There is a remote control and a timer. The flame works with or without heat. The heat has two settings and is blown by a fan which quickly heats up my living room. The fireplace makes a subtle noise that sounds to me like crackling wood on fire. The flames look realistic enough to pass for real if you're not looking for trouble. They look like real embers on the lowest two settings. This is a solid device that weighs around 35 pounds. No assembly; just plug it in. I am very happy with this purchase! Important Tip: There is a main switch under the right front of the fireplace; Remember to enable it before doing anything else.
