Looks the same but is not the same

This strap is fine. When you need it, it does exactly what you want it to. However, I don't like how soft it is. There are a lot of reviews about "oh my god he's so soft" blah blah blah. The softness is kinda creepy. The softness makes it very soft and wobbly, I don't like that. On your wrist, it looks like something on your wrist. That's not a thick blanket. This is a watch band specially designed for people who play ridiculous sports like Triathlon, Ultras and IronMan. He's on the lookout for things like that. Amazing, he can do his job. I don't care how soft and squishy the silicone is after driving 100 miles. Because it's so soft and flexible, it's even harder to put on and take off; easy, but still. In my opinion, the original Garmin strap was thoughtfully and purposefully made. It's a good alternative, but Garmin is better. Because it's soft and flexible, it doesn't get caught in the little loops that hold an extra strap (whatever it's called). That's probably why they contain (2) of them. This is something I keep breaking, and I've found this happens when I wear the watch before bed. So I have to keep buying whole tapes just for the stupid loop stuff. They're not like Garmin, with a metal tongue (?) inside. The loops on the strap are made of the same soft material, making it fairly easy to remove the strap. This is probably why they included (2) of these for extra holding power. It doesn't help much. If you just want a wristband that's cheaper than Garmin, this will do. If you want something like a Garmin strap, just buy a Garmin strap.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
