I have arthritis in my ankle and they are easy to put on. The top stays on for a long time, but as others have said, they lose traction pretty quickly. These are great summer shoes but I wouldn't try them if there is a slippery surface like ice in winter, they probably aren't warm enough for that but not as cold as you might expect. I have them on sale and this is the way to go. In general, everything is fine except for the loss of grip
