I took a chance and bought 3 foot XLR male to XLR female GLS cables to replace the existing XLR male to 1/4 inch cables, that I already had installed. I'm a DJ and more of a perfectionist. Last spring I spent several thousand dollars to buy a new DJ system. I bought the best components I could afford and I was and am very happy with my purchase. However, after some research (I'm always trying to improve sound quality and performance), I found that I was able to get more performance out of my system, so I decided to reconfigure the cables. During my research and quest for better performance, several professional sources strongly recommended not only using high-quality patch cords (well, we all knew that), but using XLR cords whenever possible because the grounding and pins are better. , and durability. I bought the GLS cables partly because of the price and hoping to get the quality that the manufacturer claims. I was not disappointed. In fact, I was impressed considering the advertised price. I figured if these cables were second rate I would use them as a backup. Let me just say before I go any further that I have about $600 on cable alone. Putting these cables alongside ones that cost more than double what I paid for them, I really couldn't tell any difference in quality or finish. I ran the system and increased the clarity and performance a bit. I will definitely buy more cables from GLS. I strongly recommend buying cables from GLS. So far they have worked flawlessly.
