I bought this backpack because I often need to bring 2 laptops home from work (for remote work) and a large 17 inch Dell that didn't fit well in my previous backpack. Also, I wanted something that would fit in my purse and lunch, as well as some peripherals and laptops etc so I don't have to carry multiple bags to and from work. The dining space is so-so, doesn't keep anything cold, but can be expanded if desired to fill almost the entire bottom of the bag, so it can take a beating. My handbag fits perfectly. My biggest complaint is that several compartments (including the dining area) only have a zipper. Two would make it much easier to use. Also, if you pack too much in the compartments above the dining area, it will become too heavy. It doesn't tip over, instead forcing you to only open one compartment at a time to prevent the entire top half from tipping over. But it's a comfortable backpack for its size, it has plenty of room and also some room for my needs, so overall I like it. I've been using it for about 2 months and no problems so far. However, I'm pretty sure it will be too big to take on some planes if you pack it all the way. He is so big!
