2 major quality issues

Arrived with 2 major quality issues. First, the compass's floating dial is tilted sharply north, as if out of balance. This causes the dial to stick and not read properly or consistently. The second flaw is that the bubble level wasn't set correctly, as if too much glue was used and it wasn't standing properly. As a result, it will turn off significantly. I tested it on a known flat surface (my granite countertop) and also compared it to another compass. At the same time I bought an Eyeskey 1001M. It has fewer features, but the compass and spirit level are accurate. I am grateful for that as I will be returning the poorly made Proster. It's a shame, really, because it seems to be made of solid die-cast aluminum and has a certain weight. It looks and feels high quality, just not very well made. I'm honestly surprised by the 5 star reviews for the Proster.

Cons
  • Very expensive
