I bought this for a day trip to the sea world hoping to get some fun underwater photos and videos of our kid and friend. It worked well for its intended purpose, but there are a few "slight" points I wish I'd known before ordering. I hope this helps someone. I wanted an action cam with a Sony sensor, at least 16 megapixel photos and 4K/30. Here's what I found out. 1) 4K bitrate is only about 10Mbps. It's really low. This means 4K videos will be blocky and of less than acceptable quality. I also noticed that frames were dropped, so the 4K footage was basically rubbish. Note that a higher bitrate means more information can be written per second. For example, the GoPro Hero 5 records 4K at 60Mbps. That's 6 times more information per second. This is of great importance. 2) The bit rate for 2.7K will be increased to 20Mbps. I don't know why, but it looks a lot better. The video is smooth with no noticeable frame drops. Basically, this is the highest setting you want to use. 3) the bit rate for all combinations of 1080 and 720 remained at 20 Mbps. For 1080 this is very good for the average person. The audio is always 8K Mono AAC (like many action cams). I also bought a JinSun camera on Prime Day so I can compare. I'm not going to review every action cam for Revain, but I'd really like to shoot at a higher bitrate than Dragon Touch, specifically 2.7K (20Mbps 2.7K shows some artifacts in faster action sequences). I prefer to shoot in 4K (I shoot professionally with Panasonic equipment) but 2.7K is fine for my family. Interestingly, the JinSun 4K/30 camera outputs 4K at 18Mbps (still low), while 2.7K 720p is a 26Mbps file with AAC 8K mono audio. It has a significantly better picture quality. I contacted Dragon Touch for a firmware update to fix the low bitrate issue and didn't really get much help. Interestingly, the emails are back from Akaso tech support, so I'm guessing it's just a rebrand from Akaso. So I keep Dragon Touch for my 9 year old and JinSun for myself. It's on par with other cameras in this price range and at the asking price is good value for money. For the asking price, I'm a bit short on the Dragon Touch and would look at JinSun (on sale) instead. Both use the DVX app and have very similar features at similar prices. For the same money I take JinSun.
