Review on Bed Wedge Pillow Memory Foam by Emily Oakes

This is going to be a fairly long and thorough test. As the name suggests, it has done its job. I bought this pillow because I am recovering from a double lung transplant and need to lie in a reclined position for easier getting up and going to bed. The 12" height is perfect for this as I wanted it to be as tall as possible. Upon unwrapping and removing it from the sealed packaging, it expanded almost instantly. It took about 45 minutes for it to reach its full size. I didn't notice any chemical smell in it and I didn't have to "air it out" before using it, so it was good. 5 stars for shipping, packaging and odor control. I sleep in a large bed. with my boyfriend, and took the pillow occupies exactly half the space in the bed. It doesn't matter because it's no longer the space a regular pillow would use. In terms of stiffness, it wasn't what I expected. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest I would rate a 7.5 It didn't have the light cloudy feel I would expect from memory foam, it's denser than I'd like and when I lay on it , I didn't sink in. That's a On the other hand it's good because the transplant doesn't give me the strength to pull myself out of the dent that has formed in the pillow. However, once I get better I don't think I'll keep using it because it's not the most comfortable thing. When the wedge is placed vertically against a wall and used as a back support when seated, I feel like I'm leaning directly against the wall and leaning my blanket against it. So it's a soft feeling, but again too heavy to sink into. Comfort level 3 stars: For me there is no lightness like a cloud. it was. But because it's so tight and doesn't fit my body, I wake up with pain in my neck and shoulders like I'm sleeping on the floor. I had to deduct 2 stars for that. 3 Stars for Pain Relief: This reduced the pain during surgery but replaced it with neck and shoulder pain. For the record, I'm a very small person (5ft 100lbs) so it could be that my upper body is just too light to sink into this pillow and maybe for someone heavier it would be perfect. Both of my parents tried it and both said it was like a pillow made for them. For reference, my mom is 4'11 and 120 pounds. and my father is 5'7 165. My father has fallen in love with this product so I will give it to him once I am fully recovered as I suspect it may help with his sleep apnea. probably buy again.
