Bought these for my 8 year old because her previous earrings would smash her ear between the earring and the butterfly. These work perfectly because once you screw on the back, the space between that and the earring does change. That being said, I don’t know if these would work for a much older person. I feel like someone with a thicker lobe might not be able to screw the back part on. As for appearance, they are beautiful! I
