The metal clasp is better than the original clasp system.
This strap holds the blade securely and won't come loose like the original. He's generally more dangerous to other people in my life. I didn't recognize or appreciate the smoothness of the original. This tends to cling to things more often. The metal clasp is missing today as I see it so I need a new strap. The tape stayed in place because the rubber ring held the excess tape material. Glad you didn't lose your electronics.
