Even if you're not traveling far out of human reach for a few days, it's not a bad idea to have extra water with you. However, it's not always easy to fit into a rig already stuffed with camping gear or other items to ensure the container is BPA-free and safe for long-term storage. I wanted something smaller and handier than a 5 gallon military grade container, but more secure than individual water bottles. Even if you don't use the very handy Rotopax mounting features, this is a great storage solution. I keep mine in a milk crate in the back of a jeep.
