If you mount the lamp by taping it on the wall instead of screwing it on, be aware that the tape will ruin your wall if you try to remove it. I'm saying this will take the type of ruin off your drywall and paint. I'm genuinely angry with myself and upset at the fact that I was too eager to try out the light, too eager to take basic common sense precautions. I didn't check the package to see if it had removal instructions before I taped the washing machine to my wall, IT DOESN'T. I didn't think of trying lighting it first by holding the washer in place where I wanted it before actually gluing the damn thing on. Now I have a real situation on my hands and the back of the washing machine doesn't shine bright enough so I won't use it if it's still taped to the wall.
