Bought this item and two other similar soup sets with side handles at the same time because we often serve soups, chillies, gumbos, stews. This Kook set is the most used of the three brands because: Kook bowls are the right size; : Relatively open tops for slow cooling to ensure safe handling of hot food: pottery is roomy but not heavy; the color sets accents and looks "clean”. I loved this item so much for my own use that I recently bought another set as a gift to match a similar LODGE enamelled cast iron.
