I'm new to shaving with safety razors so admittedly I'm new to these things. However, I am very happy with this set. The cup has a pleasant weight and makes a robust impression. The soap smells nice, foams quickly and glides over your face with a razor. The brush is soft but flexible enough to lift the hair. Holds some water and soap. I've been using it regularly for the past two weeks and it hasn't shed any stubble yet so looks pretty well done. Also, it doesn't smell like a dead animal, which is the main reason I decided to try it. Now I know some say I'm missing out on the "full experience" if I don't use a silver-tipped badger hairbrush, but to me that's like saying I'm missing out on the full NYC experience by not getting mugged will while I'm there visiting.
